NateNate entered the Air Force in January of 2000. After graduating from Tech School, he was assigned to the 23rd Maintenance Squadron/23rd Fighter Group at Pope Air Force Base, NC, a 4th Fighter Wing Tenant Group. At Pope AFB, Nate served on the base Honor Guard from Oct 2001 to Feb 2003. He completed over 150 details, supervised 75 ceremonies, and participated in four active duty funerals from those who served in Operations Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). Nate was deployed to the Al Jaber Air Base, Kuwait, in February 2003 for OIF. In April, he pushed forward into Southern Iraq performing courier duties on carrier truck convoys. In 2004 Nate transferred to the Air Force reserves and served with the 459th Air Refueling Wing at Andrews Air Force Base, Md. In 2007 he then transitioned to the 113th Wing Command Post, District of Columbia Air National Guard, Andrews Air Force Base as an Aerospace Controlled Alert (ACA) Command Post Controller. There he pursued a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and graduated from the University of Maryland in 2011. Nate has participated in several activities to help wounded veterans. Serving the military for 12 years has given him a unique perspective of the needs of these heroes. Co-founding 4W2H was an important milestone in his life.
