Terry W. Jacobs

5/14/1964 – 1/14/2021

Terry always had a deep passion for anything off-road. He began riding dirt bikes when he was about 12 years old. When he was about 22 years old he joined Vikings MC and began desert-racing with District 37. He raced for a few years but then set it aside for a while to raise his two daughters Kalen and Danielle.

Terry married his best friend, Annette, when he was 24 years old. Together they built a family and a life around the outdoors. If he wasn’t spending the weekends at the baseball field coaching his daughters’ softball teams, he was at the river pulling his daughters around on a tube with his boat and if he wasn’t at the river he was out in Johnson Valley, CA with friends and family teaching his daughters everything he knew about off-road.

He taught both of his daughters how to ride dirt bikes when they were fairly young. He got his oldest daughter, Kalen, signed up to desert-race with District 37 and together they raced a few years. Even though it meant he would come in last place in his class, Terry would stick behind his daughter through ever race just to make sure he could be there to pick her up every time she fell.

Eventually, Terry decided to hang up racing and try something a little different. He built a 5-seat Desert Dynamics off-road car and of course taught both of his daughters and his wife how to drive it. When he realized he created monsters he decided it was time to build something bigger and safer. Next he built a 4-linked off-road truck. When he got tired of constantly working on the race-truck he decided to try a RZR as side-by-sides were getting to be pretty popular. He owned three different RZRs and yes, he taught his daughters how to drive those too!

Somewhere in all of there, Terry purchased his first Jeep which quickly became his new obsession. He had a 1995 YJ. He spent many years building and perfecting it. He had a good group of Jeeping buddies- Adam, Warren and Dave. If you couldn’t find them at camp drinking their Coors Light arguing over Jeeps then you’d find them back in the rocks pushing each other’s Jeeps to their breaking point. It was always a bet to see who had to be winched first!

Terry wanted nothing more than to share his passion with everyone he knew. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and helping others. He also enjoyed giving people (e-ticket) rides in his toys just to see the look of happiness (and fear) on their faces. Terry leaves behind many friends, his wife Annette, his two daughters Kalen and Danielle and his granddaughter Macklyn. If there is one thing he could tell his friends and family, it would be to keep living life to its fullest and not to worry because he is still here watching over us. And also making fun of his buddies for needing a winch!

Rest in peace Dad, we love you and miss you terribly.
